I can NOT believe I had my surgery a month ago today. I didn’t weigh in today but I weighed yesterday at my doctor’s office and she was so impressed at my thirty pound weight loss in a month! She looked at my wounds and said they looked good with no infection. I talked to her about the “strictures” which is what they are called when the esophagus constricts and does not make it easy for food to go down. She said I may ultimately have to get the balloon inserted in it to expand the food passage to my stomach. She said to eat slowly and let everything go down completely and chew everything well. She said the esophagus is a muscle and if you do not use it, you lose it and since I have only been on liquids for so long, it is struggling to work properly now with digesting food. She said just drink frequently through the day to keep using it.
